Hi,

This is right on schedule. In fact I will be in the field Monday
specifically to look for Louisiana Waterthrush in Stebbin's Gulch at The
Holden Arboretum The return date here on the northern edge of their range
is on or about April first regardless of weather. We find that they are
well established on territory in their prefered clear running water habitat
by late April.

Northern Waterthrush move much later, and after May first any Waterthrush
found along still waters, e.g. ponds and marshes and estuaries is far more
likely to be Northern, as Louisiana have already become established on
breeding territories in Ohio.

Haans
