Had a good morning at Pick Ponds today.

From the observation platform at Wood Duck, it was a lovely sight to see 20! Great Egrets. Some 14 or so were bunched together with a couple Great Blues. They slowly dispersed over a wider area over the next 30 minutes or so. Between there & the viewing blind, I had about 9 Great Blues.

Flyby of 5 Sandhill Cranes which called briefly.

The biggest surprise for me was hearing a pheasant. Not even sure I have pheasant for Ohio and don’t know their “countability”.

Heard YB Cuckoo. Finally picked up my FOS Orchard Oriole, a nice male, as well as Purple Martins at the gourd houses.

Barn, Rough-winged & Tree Swallows.

Warblers: Yellow, Com YT, Chat (all heard only).

One, possibly two, Trumpeter Swans hanging out with Canada Geese. Osprey on platform. Adult Bald Eagle flew over. DC Cormorants.

O/w, the usual: House Wrens, field & song sparrows, grackles, Catbirds, killdeer. Only ducks were mallards.
