All open water. and no waterfowl. I stopped here - I need rare waterfowl
for my sw ohio big year - after checking some field areas south of
Dayton for Cranes. No such luck with the missing Whooping!

My big year is going average I guess. Hard to say. I would feel better if
I could find some other winter finches! And rare waterfowl. Went owling
Tues. night - East Fork. Did well! But couldn't call any winter owls.
Owls do make many different vocalizations. I need the normal calls
for Saw-whet and Long-eared.

Good birding all.
