Our hatch-year Calliope did not disappoint those who ventured out today to
see this amazing presence.
He appeared at the feeder around 8:30 am today. Throughout the day he would
feed frequently at the feeder alternating with small venturing trips to his
favorite spots then back to perching on the wire where he spent most of the
day.
As the rain became heavier, later in the afternoon, his venturing trips
into the honeysuckle vine were more extended.
I have noted that he seems to be ending his daily presence around 5:30.
I want to thank the entire birding community, those who have visited our
home, for those who have sent congratulations and support.
This beautiful bird is the star, but its the community of gratefulness and
stewardship that is the greatest reward. Great birding everyone!
