Spent the day at Magee, Metzger, and Ottawa NWR. Birds of note:
8 Marbled Godwits flew over as we reached the split point of the Ottawa Auto Tour
16 species of warblers included at least 3 Orange-crowned (Magee+Metzger) Most warblers were the early ones - Yellow-rumped and Palm predominated; only 1 Cape May and 3 Blackburnians were seen by us. One or possibly two Prairie Warblers as well.
A first-year (green, yellow &red) male Summer Tanager at Magee.
Happy birding,
Janet Duerr & Steve Schafer
