I checked out the dairy farm on Weaver Road in Licking County. The flock of
horned larks, snow buntings, lapland longspurs, and American pipits left the
fields, but I located what is probably the same flock on Smoots Road, just
west of SR 13 roaming the vast cornfields. The flock was very skittish, but
settled near enough to identify the species. No big raptors in the area, but
one kestrel was nearby, looking for lunch.
