The morning was quite pleasant with 10 species of warblers. I’m sure I missed some as small mixed groups were moving thru rapidly & I couldn’t get on all of them  

I picked up FOS Blackpoll and N Waterthrush.  I was also delighted to see two Prairie Warblers chasing each other.

 I had hoped the Prairie Warbler pair I saw several times in the spring would nest but I did not see or hear them after sometime in May so I don’t think they did. I’ll look for them again in the spring. They have only nested at the reserve once & that was several years ago. 

I went back in the late afternoon but it was v quiet and I only picked a few new species for the day, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher & kingfisher. I also saw a house Wren which I haven’t seen for awhile so wondered if it might be a migrant.

N Waterthrush: strong yellow wash, active bobbing, near wood duck pond.

Red-bellied
Flicker 

A few Tree Swallows
