Great birding here! At mid day - hot..... but I had both Cuckoos.
Most of the YB were near a field area where swarms of brood x
were. Bird food! I saw an Indigo bashing something. I presume a
cicadia. Many other species probably enjoying this feast also.
Also had a Blue Grosbeak and the Bell's. Thanks to a fellow
birder who showed me the trail it was down. I am thinking possible
breeding.
Four big year birds today. 192. And I am still iffy on 250. I am missing so much.
I was going to hit Fernald on my way home, but ran out of energy.
It was hot and sunny out there! Gallinule will have to wait.
I scanned all the water areas here. No YC night heron..... I finished
the loop, was back at my car debating on taking my scope to the
rookery viewing platform. Nah.... too hot! Next time.
Dragonfly notes - Green Darners, Black Saddlebags, and others.
Nothing perched.
Good birding all.
