I was at Conneaut harbor from 6:40 AM till 12:30 PM today.  The shorebirding was excellent, with the NE wind and rains.  I ended up with 13 species.  They were: killdeers, 5 semipalmated plovers, 7 whimbrels (a single early and a flock of 6 later), 45 sanderlings (my all-time high for July there),  5 least sandpipers, 3 pectoral sandpipers, 30 semipalmated sandpipers, 3 short-billed dowitchers, a long-billed dowitcher (well viewed and well heard), spotted sandpiper, greater yellowlegs, 2 willets, and 10 lesser yellowlegs.  Other birds seen were 16 common mergansers, 3 bald eagles, Bonaparte's gull, common tern, belted kingfisher, purple martins, and bank swallows.  Craig Holt, Lowellville
