Do any of you have a campus phone system that permits recipients of surveys to call in & leave their responses w/ a specified phone mailbox for tabulation? We've rec'd a quote of $18k from our phone system vendor for an "IVR survey application" feature that will "allow the customer to implement multiple surveys of up to 20 questions each. Multiple-choice and recorded voice responses will be supported. On a question-by-question basis callers may be allowed to confirm their entry. Multiple-choice responses will be totaled by survey at the end of each day. These totals will be made available in a comma-delimited text file for import into a spreadsheet program. Voice responses will be posted to TranSend subscriber mailbox. Each survey may be assigned to a separate mailbox number. A graphical survey configuration program will be provided. This program will allow the customer to specify the response type (voice or numeric) and the recorded prompt for each question. Survey questions will be recorded by the customer as WAV files using a pc with a sound card and a microphone. Written instructions for survey configuration will be provided."

Sounds [too?] good. Would appreciate hearing from any of you with experience with a phone system for this feature just how functional this feature has proven for institutional research activities.

Thanx!
