Our state fire code prohibits BBQ Gas Grills on balconies in apartments or within a specific number of feet from any opening into a building (5 or 6, I think, don't have my code handy).

In addition, we require prior notification for one - including those hosted by our food services, and provide portable fire extinguishers for it and have our patrol units pay special attention to them.

The big problem is tail gate parties during football game season.

Hello all,
Barbecues are becoming a problem and we need to regulate their use. Does anyone have a policy for use of barbecues by students living in residence halls? Does anyone ban the use of barbecues on campus?
