Durham:
One week after a University of New Hampshire Fraternity was closed for
violations of Fire, Building and Health Codes, officials have filed charges
against the Fraternity in Durham District Court. Twenty-three separate
charges were filed against The New Hampshire New Beta Association of Sigma
Alpha Epsilon. Each charge is classified as a class "B" misdemeanor and
could carry a penalty of up to $1,200. If convicted on all 23 counts the
penalty of more than $27,000 will be the most ever sought against a
University of New Hampshire Fraternity.
