The Republicans have once again attempted to sneak measures into the
federal budget to allow drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife
Refuge.  Last year, ANWR was protected by only three Senate votes; it
is obviously even tighter now.  Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Sen.
John Kerry (D-MA) have proposed an amendment to the budget that would
protect the Arctic Refuge, and it will be considered by the Senate
today or tomorrow.  Please call George Voinovich's office RIGHT NOW and
let him know you support the amendment.  As many of you know, such
calls take less than a minute and are essential in off-setting the flow
of money into corporate lobbying.  Just identify yourself as a
constituent of the Senator, then tell the staffer on the phone that you
urge the Senator to vote FOR the Cantwell/Kerry amendment to prevent
drilling in ANWR.  It's that simple.
