conducted, how they are used, and what they really tell us.   Guests:

      11-12: Mary Doria Russell will talk about her new novel, "Children of
God." (Villard) The story of Father Emilio Sandoz, a Jesuit priest on a
mission to a faraway planet, the book is an inventive combination of
science fiction and philosophy.
 
 
Fresh Air with Terry Gross, 12-1 p.m.
 
      From Earth to the Moon. This weekend, HBO begins the first two parts
of its 12 part docudrama on the U.S. Space Program. We'll hear from TOM
HANKS, who was the executive producer on the film project, and from ANDREW
CHAIKIN who's book "A Man on the  Moon" is the basis for much of the series.

      IN KENYA, EFFORTS TO PROTECT WILDLIFE HAVE OFTEN CAUSED SUBSTANTIAL
PROBLEMS FOR THE ECONOMIC LIVELIHOOD AND PERSONAL SAFETY OF NATIVE

SHE AND HER  GUESTS DISCUSS THE RELATIONSHIP OF KENYA'S NATIVE ETHNIC
