        Don Miguel Ruiz, author of The Four Freedoms: A Practical
Guide to Personal Freedom.

The Diane Rehm Show (10am - Noon); guest host Lynn Neary
Diane is receiving another treatment for spasmodic dysphonia. We
expect that she will be away from the show until the week of November
19th.
        Hour one: Airline Industry: A panel reviews the top issues
affecting the airline industry: last weeks Congressional action on
airline security, the continuing economic impact of the September
11th attacks on the travel industry, and how consumers are being
affected when they fly. Guests: Paul Hudson, Aviation Consumer Action
Project; Lorraine Woellert, Business Week; Michael Wascom, Air
Transport Association
        Hour two: Maxine Clair: Maxine Clair presents "October Suite"
(Random House), her new novel featuring schoolteacher October Brown,
one of the most memorable characters from her acclaimed collection of
short stories "Rattlebone."

Fresh Air with Terry Gross (noon - 1pm)
        QUINCY JONES. He has a new autobiography and a new CD box set
collection of his work. He talks about his collaborations with the
Jacksons, Lionel Hampton, Ray Charles and others.

Public Interest with Kojo Nnamdi (1pm - 2pm)
        It's been a complex relationship between the U.S. and many
African countries. Find out how the war on terrorism has affected
this delicate balance, as Kojo talks with a panel of journalists
about African attitudes towards America.

Talk of the Nation with Neal Conan (2pm - 4pm)
        Hour one: INFORMATION FLOW: TOO MUCH, TOO LITTLE?: Scares of
anthrax contamination continue nationwide, and Americans are
desperate for information on how to remain safe. Neal talks with
public health experts and a political press secretary about informing
the public during a time of national crisis.
        Hour two: PART 1 ON MIDDLE EAST CONFLICT: PALESTINE: Neal
leads a two-part conversation with leading thinkers on the Middle
East. Part one: a conversation with Palestinian writer Edward Said, a
cultural critic and controversial advocate of Palestinian rights.

All Things Considered (4pm - 7pm)
        Since September 11th, the Bush administration's call to drill
for oil in Alaska's National Wildlife Refuge has taken on new
urgency. The President says it is a matter of national security to
reduce American dependence on foreign oil. But opponents of the
President's plan say tapping environmentally sensitive areas is not
the way to address the problem.
