Interconnect (9am - 10am, repeated 7 - 8 pm)
The Healing Powers of Water. Guest: Fereydoon Batmanghelidj,
M.D. author, "Your Body's Many Cries for Water". Web site:
http://www.watercure.com/

The Diane Rehm Show (10am - Noon)
Hour One: Bullying: A panel talks about bullying among
schoolchildren: why it happens, who the typical aggressors and
victims are, and its long-term effects on both. Guests: William
Pollack, clinical psychologist and assistant clinical professor of
psychiatry at Harvard Medical School; Kevin Dwyer, National Mental
Health Association
Hour Two: David Cordingly: An old superstition says that a
woman aboard a ship brings bad luck, but in his book "Women Sailors
and Sailors' Women" (Random House), maritime scholar David Cordingly
shows that that taboo has often been broken. He tells of women who
sailed the seas in the 18th and 19th centuries -- by invitation or as
stowaways, with men or on their own.

Fresh Air with Terry Gross (Noon - 1pm)
Saxophonist Joe Lovano. He recently topped a couple of polls
as tenor saxophone player of the year. Also hear from Tejano singer
Ruben Ramos.

Public Interest with Kojo Nnamdi (1pm - 2pm)
Political correctness. A CHILD SUSPENDED FOR BRINGING A WATER
GUN TO SCHOOL. AN EMPLOYER FORCED TO REHIRE A BELLIGERENT WORKER
BECAUSE SHE'S DISABLED. THIS AND MORE AGGRAVATE SYNDICATED COLUMNIST
JOHN LEO. HE JOINS KOJO TO DISCUSS HIS VIEW THAT KNEE-JERK POLITICAL
CORRECTNESS AND HYPOCRISY ARE BECOMING UNSTOPPABLE IN TODAY'S
SOCIETY. Guest: John Leo, Contributing Editor, US News & World
Report; syndicated columnist; and author of "Incorrect Thoughts:
Notes on Our Wayward Culture" (Pub: Transaction Press, Piscataway, NJ)

Talk of the Nation with Juan Williams (2pm - 4pm)
Hour One: CARBON DIOXIDE EMISSIONS: On the campaign trail,
George W. Bush pledged to cut carbon dioxide emissions. Now he's
changed his mind. Critics say the President sold out to special
interests. Why President Bush dropped his campaign pledge -- and what
it means for global warming.
Hour Two: FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE UPDATE: The United States is
going to great lengths to try to keep foot and mouth disease out of
the country. Last week, the virus spread to France. Now, the U-S-D-A
has temporarily banned imported meats.

All Things Considered (4pm - 7pm)
A eulogy for the MIR Space Station. After 15 years of
orbiting the earth MIR is about to meet a fiery death. The Russian
space station had an impressive, albeit troubled, life, and leaves
valuable lessons for the new International Space Station.
