Help Desk (9am - 10am, repeated 7pm -8pm)
Mac and PC questions answered with Ted Beerman and Guy Moore
The Diane Rehm Show (10am - Noon)
Hour One: Janet Reno: Former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno
is considering running in Florida's upcoming gubernatorial race,
challenging current governor and presidential brother Jeb Bush. She
joins Diane to talk about the ups and downs of her tenure in the
Clinton administration, what she's done since leaving office, and her
possible future in politics.
Hour Two: Rita Golden Gelman: For the past 15 years,
children's book author Rita Golden Gelman has had no fixed address,
traveling through Mexico, Nicaragua, the Galapagos Islands, Borneo,
Bali, and many other places in between. In her new memoir, "Tales of
a Female Nomad" (Crown), she relates how she started living such a
rootless existence -- and why she continues.
Fresh Air with Terry Gross (Noon - 1pm)
The California energy crisis. Journalist LOWELL BERGMAN has
been investigating the story for the P-B-S series, "Frontline" and
for the "New York Times." Bergman is also the former "60 minutes"
producer portrayed by Al Pacino in the film, "The Insider."
Public Interest with Kojo Nnamdi (1pm - 2pm)
Breastfeeding (no other information available)
Talk of the Nation with Juan Williams (2pm - 4pm); a Changing Face of
America series, live from Rochester, NY
Hour One: ROCHESTER AND THE NEW ECONOMY: Economists and local
business people from Rochester discuss how the city is being
transformed from a home of old line heavy industry to a center of
culture, sports, and good restaurants.
Hour Two: FUTURE OF THE AMERICAN LABOR MOVEMENT: Labor
experts and union officials talk about the future of American labor.
All Things Considered (4pm - 7pm)
When American companies need to hire a foreign worker with
certain skills, the U.S. Immigration service issues an H-1-B visa.
But when those companies lay-off employees, H-1-B visa holders are
caught in an awkward legal status. Taking a new job somewhere else
could, by law, jeopardize their chances for a green card.
