        Hour 1: Human Genome Project: Dr. Francis Collins, director
of the National Human Genome Research Institute at NIH, talks with
Diane about the groundbreaking developments in human genome research
that have been in the headlines.
        Hour 2: Daniel Silva: Novelist and journalist Daniel Silva
draws on his experience as UPI's former Middle East correspondent for
his new thriller "The Kill Artist" (Random House). The plot centers
on a former Israeli intelligence agent called back into service to
thwart an assassination plot.

penalty? Journalist ANN CRITTENDEN shares stories from her new book

        Hour 1: 2000 ELECTION AND NETWORK COVERAGE: The heads of the
TV networks are being called before Congress to explain their
election night coverage. Some in Congress are concerned about exit
polls and the way the networks use them to project winners. A
discussion about what the networks say and whether Congress should be
involved in the issue.
        Hour 2: THE FUTURE OF NAPSTER: A federal appeals court in San
Francisco has ruled against Napster and ordered the online music
service to stop trading copyrighted material. What this ruling means
for Napster and the music industry.

All Things Considered (4 - 7 pm)
        A visit to Ecuador, where shrimp farming has devastated
coastal mangrove swamps. Critics charge the shrimp farms make big
profits but give little back to their communities. New farms have
been temporarily banned. But some say the farming can be done
responsibly.
