        Ohio Public Radio will produce a live, state-wide call-in
show dealing with the aftermath of Thursday's landmark Supreme
Court's ruling on school funding in Ohio, which approved with
qualifications the approach the legislature is taking. Guests include
Rep. Jim Trakas (R-Independence), Sen. Randy Gardner (R-Bowling
Green), Sen. Mike Shoemaker (D-Ross county), and Bill Phillis, head
of the coalition of schools suing the state in the DeRolph case.

The Diane Rehm Show (10am - Noon) (rebroadcasts for Labor Day; Diane
returns Tuesday)
        Hour one: Congress Update: There are only a few weeks left in
the government's current fiscal year. Recently, President Bush met
with Senate leaders from both parties to discuss the framework for
the spending bills that need to be completed soon. A panel of
Congressional observers joins Diane to talk about how the budget
negotiations and other issues will play out on Capitol Hill in the
weeks ahead. Guests: Norm Ornstein, American Enterprise Inst.; Tom
Mann, Brookings Inst.
        Hour two: James Webb, a Vietnam War veteran and former
Secretary of the Navy and Assistant Secretary of Defense, discusses
"Lost Soldiers" (Bantam), his new novel set in present-day Vietnam.
He'll talk about how the events of three decades ago still affect
Vietnam today, and about the work of the U.S. Army's forensic labs,
working to recover and identify the remains of servicemen still
missing in action.

back into the free world after serving time behind bars. They're
released from the "Walls Unit," as it's known in the Texas prison
system. Later today, hear the thoughts of some of those men, as they
prepare to reenter society.
