We had a fantastically beautiful day yesterday to band [looks like the last
nice warm day for many, many months!! We banded 18 species and 48
individuals [41 banded/ 7 recaptured]. We are still getting Ovenbirds, TN
Warblers, Magnolia Warblers, but we also banded 5 White-throated
Sparrows--I guess winter is coming! I have included again what I think of
as an unusual combination of birds--our first Golden-crowned and
Ruby-crowned Kinglets and a Brown Thrasher (I haven't seen a BRTH in
weeks!). Also, a quarter weighs exactly 5.6 grams...so did this
Golden-crowned Kinglet!!
Cheers
Dave
PS I'll send out the quiz answers later today.
