Please send your March totals to me to put on the board (if you haven't
done it yourselves). Looks like Team 5 Cardinal Sins is the team to beat
with about 110 species so far.
This morning in the pouring rain we were able to find the pair of Ospreys
back on their tower off Brownsville Rd in Liberty [by Treaty Line Rd and
Hwy 44], C Loons [calling], Horned Grebes, Greater Scaup (on Whitewater
Lake), L. Scaup, RN Ducks, Ruddies, Gadwall, a zillion Coots, rafts of
Hooded Mergs and a few RB Mergs, Shovelers, Buffleheads, and an adult Bald
Eagle at Dunlapsville. A Red-tail was sitting on the nest opposite the
giant Red-headed Woodpecker attached to the telephone pole on the way to
Dunlapsville. There was a bird on the nest we banded the GH Owlet in last
year on 127 going toward Middletown--anybody know if it is a Red-tail or
Horned Owl this year (it was dusk when we went by last night)?
Cheers
Dave
