This may be late, but at Virginia the fire program is a part of the Office of
Environmental Health and Safety.  Officially the office reports to the Vice
President for Research, but in reality reports directly to any Vice President on
issues that need to be solved.  We do have an agreement with the State Fire
Marshalls Office to do inspections on their behalf.
