our understanding of the Bible. Reporter Amy Dockser Marcus talks
about the recent discoveries and controversies in the Holy Land.

The Diane Rehm Show (10am - Noon)
Hour One: Tax Cut: Last weekend Congress approved the biggest tax cut
in twenty years. The bill reduces rates in all income brackets... and
most taxpayers will get refund checks this summer. President Bush has
hailed the plan as both 'profound and fair.' A panel joins Diane to
discuss the tax cut legislation and its economic and political
implications ... Guests: Norm Ornstein, American Enterprise
Institute; Bruce Bartlett, National Center for Policy Analysis
Hour Two: Elizabeth Peters: Egyptologist Barbara Mertz is also a
best-selling novelist -- under the nom de plume Elizabeth Peters,
she's put her academic training to good use in her series of
mysteries featuring Victorian archaeologist-turned-sleuth Amelia
Peabody. The author joins Diane to present the thirteenth
installment, "Lord of the Silent" (William Morrow).

Fresh Air with Terry Gross (Noon - 1pm)
The editor-in-chief of the Colombian newspaper, El Tiempo. He says
journalists are under attack by drug lords as well as left and right
wing paramilitary groups. Also, actress CHRISTINA RICCI, star of "The
Addams Family," "The Opposite of Sex," and the new film, "The Man Who
Cried."

TUESDAY" DISCUSSION OF THE REVOLUTIONARY FIELD OF NANOTECHNOLOGY. 1.
Bob Celotta, Group Leader of the Electron Physics Group at the
National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST); and NIST
Fellow; 2. James Ellenbogen, Principal Scientist in the Nanosystems
Group of The Mitre Corporation (a government-chartered,
not-for-profit technology research organization); 3. Jim Heath,

All Things Considered (4pm - 7pm)
The first-hand story of a chronic offender's effort to turn his life
around. James is 38-years-old and has been in and out of prison his
whole life. He's enrolled in a halfway house for ex-cons, to make the
transition from jail to the outside world. We'll hear about his
experience, and the struggles of those around him who are also trying
to "learn how to live."
