Help Desk (9am - 10am, repeated 7pm -8pm)
Mac and PC questions answered with Ted Beerman and Guy Moore.

The Diane Rehm Show (10am - Noon)
Hour One: Stem Cell Policy: Stem cell research promises to
provide new therapies, preventive measures and even cures for some
major human diseases and disorders. But some policymakers, like many
Americans, have deep misgivings about the use of human embryonic
tissue for this purpose. A panel talks about the therapeutic
potential of stem cells, the ethical issues raised by the work, and
federal funding for the research. Guests: Dr. Robert Goldstein, chief
science officer for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
International (founding member of Coalition for the Advancement of
Medical Research); Dr. David Prentice, Indiana State University;
member, Do No Harm: Coalition of Americans for Research Ethics; Rick
Weiss, Washington Post
Hour Two: Sue Halpern: Every year, millions of monarch
butterflies migrate from the Canada and the Northeastern United
States to one fifty-acre plot in Mexico. Scientists still don't fully
understand how and why the butterflies return to the same spot year
after year. Sue Halpern writes about this enduring mystery in her new
book about monarch butterflies, "Four Wings And A Prayer" (Pantheon).

Fresh Air with Terry Gross (Noon - 1pm)
The United Nations is preparing for a special session on
AIDS. To mark that event, a conversation with JON COHEN... author of
a new book on the search for an AIDS vaccine. Also journalist
CHARLENE SMITH discusses the spread of AIDS in southern Africa.

Public Interest with Kojo Nnamdi (1pm - 2pm)
        Summer reading suggestions

Talk of the Nation with Juan Williams (2pm - 4pm)
Hour One: "FREAK DANCING": It's called freak dancing, booty
dancing or dirty dancing. What is it and why are some high schools
banning it?
Hour Two: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT YOUR HMO? Do you get your
health care from an H-M-O? Nearly 200-million Americans do. This
week, Congress is considering a patient's bill of rights.

All Things Considered (4pm - 7pm)
The mystery of the Monarch. Every fall, a huge migration
takes place as millions of Monarch Butterflies make their way south
from Canada. They winter in Mexico, then journey back north. But
their life-span won't allow them to finish the trip. It is their
great great grandchildren that finally arrive back in Ontario.
