Just a reminder to all of you that the deadline for registration for the
Midwest Academy of Legal Studies in Business 2002 Annual Meeting is fast
approaching. Although the "technical" deadline to register and to submit a
paper for the Refereed Discussant Track is October 1 (next week!), we
recognize some of you may need a little bit more time. However, please
contact Vice President and Program Chair, Gail McCracken (tel: (313)
593-5476 or email: [log in to unmask]), soon if you are interested in
attending and/or presenting at this ever popular meeting in Chicago.

The Annual Meeting will be held on February 27-March 1, 2002, in
coordination with the Midwest Business Administration Association at
Chicago's finest -- The Palmer House Hilton. It is of course a great time to
collaborate with your colleagues in ALSB, but is also a good opportunity to
meet folks from other business disciplines or to make that
cross-disciplinary presentation that you've always wanted to do. This years
events include a teaching symposium entitled "Teaching Legal Studies: Cases,
Exercises and Assignments that Work!" as well as special sessions on the
MBAA's 2002 theme: "Entrepreneurship and Innovation." Thursday evening will
be spent out "on the town" with your ALSB colleagues at some
yet-to-be-determined venue (last year we all grooved at the House of
Blues!).

Because of the popularity of the MBAA conference, hotel rooms are limited,
so you may wish to call the hotel direct to reserve a room. The Palmer
House's telephone is (312) 726-7500. Make sure you tell them you are part
of the MBAA conference, and are requesting the conference rate.
