SPECIAL: "America: A Tribute to Heroes" (9pm - 11pm)

        Most TV broadcast and cable networks are combining for an
unprecedented joint coverage of a telethon featuring some of
America's best known entertainers, live from New York and Los
Angeles. Performers include Sheryl Crow, The Dixie Chicks, Faith
Hill, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Tom Petty, Stevie Wonder and Neil
Young. Actors Amy Brenneman, Jim Carrey, George Clooney, Tom Cruise,
Cameron Diaz, Robert De Niro, Clint Eastwood, Calista Flockhart,
Dennis Franz, Kelsey Grammer, Tom Hanks, Ray Romano, Julia Roberts,
Will Smith and Sela Ward, comedian Robin Williams and late-night
talk-show host Conan O'Brien and many others will raise funds for
disaster relief efforts. Means of donation will be announced during
the show; the official web site, http://WWW.TRIBUTETOHEROES.ORG, is
to be launched today.
