        Our monthly FitTalk program, hosted by "Dr. Jay" Kimiecik,
PhD, Associate Professor in Health Promotion at Miami
University.  This month's topic: The Physician's Role in Fitness.

The Diane Rehm Show (10am - Noon)
        Hour one: Oregon's Assisted Suicide Law: A panel talks about
Oregon's assisted suicide law, and how it will be affected by
Attorney General John Ashcroft's recent move to allow prosecution of
doctors who prescribe federally controlled substances to help bring
about death.
        Hour two: Edmund Morris: Presidential historian Edmund Morris
introduces the long-awaited second volume of his biography of
Theodore Roosevelt, which covers Roosevelt's term in office.
"Theodore Rex" (Random House) follows "The Rise of Theodore
Roosevelt," which won a Pulitzer prize in 1980.

Fresh Air with Terry Gross (noon - 1pm)
        Bosnian film director DANIS TANOVIC <DAN-ISS TAN-oh-vitch>.
During the war in Bosnia, he was the Bosnian armys cameraman
documenting the war for the army archive.He now has his first feature
film, "No Mans Land." It's about three soldiers trapped in a trench
between enemy lines.

Public Interest with Kojo Nnamdi (1pm - 2pm); guest host Frank Stasio
        More babies and toddlers are adopted than older children. To
increase adolescent adoptions, some agencies are trying controversial
methods. A discussion on new techniques to move older children from
foster care to families. GUESTS: 1. Linda Spears, Acting Associate
Vice President of Program Operations, Child Welfare League of
America; 2. Susan Orr, Associate Commissioner, Children's Bureau
Administration on Children, Youth and Families, Administration for
Children's and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

Talk of the Nation with Neal Conan (2pm - 4pm)
        Hour one: NATION BUILDING IN AFGHANISTAN: efforts to rebuild
Afghanistan after the war on terrorism. Does the US have an
obligation to rebuild a shattered Afghanistan and encourage democracy
there?
        Hour two: PRESIDENTIAL POWERS DURING WAR: Neal talks with
presidential historians about presidential powers. What have
President Bush and other former presidents done to increase their
power during times of national crisis?

All Things Considered (4pm - 7pm)
        Cheetahs -- fast, beautiful cats that need space to run --
have fast been losing numbers worldwide. They're hard to breed in
captivity. But an endangered wildlife facility in Texas called Fossil
Rim is having some success.

Tomorrow on the Todd Mundt Show
        1) Georgetown University professor Suzanna Walters on the
portrayal of gays in the media. She talks about whether the gay
characters are breaking new ground, or are still restrictive. 2) The
Hamann-Todd Osteologican Collection at the Cleveland Museum of
Natural History is a collection of human bones from people of
different racial groups and ages. What we can learn from it. 3) Dr.
Saki Santorelli, assistant professor of medicine at the University of
Massachusetts about a new way to relieve stress, called "mindfulness
meditation". 4) Travel writer Ed Hewitt on how Americans can blend in
while traveling in other countries, and the signs of American culture
that give them away.
