An important lecture and discussion on slavery in the Sudan:

Scopas Poggo, PhD

Dr. Poggo is an assistant Professor of African and American Studies at
The Ohio State University (Mansfield Campus). He received his B.Ed from
University of Juba (Sudan) in 1986, Postgraduate Diploma in Library and
Information Studies from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Polytechnic (United Kingdom)
in 1990, MA in African History from Memphis State University (USA) in
1992, and PhD in African History from University of California, Santa
Barbara (USA) in 1999. Dr. Poggo’s research focuses on the Sudan. He is
currently working on two manuscripts. The first one is on Sudan’s First
Civil War (under review), and the second one is on “Kuku Oral History and
Culture.” Dr. Poggo will answer questions after the presentation.
