The north end of Acton (the marsh) has been hopping with birds the last
couple days! Immature Black-crowned Night-herons, Green Herons, Blue
Herons, and Little Blue Herons all have been actively feeding. 47 Killdeer
and 4 Great Egrets were also mixed in with the 35 or so Ring-billed Gulls
and 3 Caspian Terns. Four Double-crested Cormorants, three Spotted
Sandpipers and 6 Least Sandpipers were also standing on the edge of the new
sand spit.
Attached is the Little Blue Heron and Black-crowned Night-Heron
pictures--both immatures look very different from the adults!
