Dear Colleagues,

We have extended the deadline for proposals for the Race, Gender, Class,
and Sexuality symposium which is scheduled for February 25 & 26, 2004.  The
keynote speakers are Susan Jarratt, professor of rhetoric at the
Universityof California, Irvine whose talk will focus on the language of
the Truth and Reconciliation hearings in South Africa, and Gwen Pough, a
Miami graduate, who will speak on hip-hop feminism.  In addition, both Gwen
and Susan will offer workshops on Saturday.  Please submit your proposal
for an individual presentation or panel before the end of the fall semester.
