Dear ATEG colleagues,

I wanted to let you know what is happening with the journal. First, since we changed the name, we have to get a new ISSN number from the Library of Congress. Then, since we changed the publication location, we have to get a new mailing permit from the local post office. This government red tape should be completed soon, but it was not finished before September 1 like I thought it would be.

But the main holdup has been the needed software. Because Texas Tech now has a site license agreement with Adobe, I decided to move up to the professional-level InDesign software, which I can purchase through Texas Tech at a very low cost, to use in producing the journal. Only one problem: it was supposed to be here a month ago, but has been delayed. So I ask for your patience a little longer. The materials for the next issues are ready. As soon as the government red tape is taken care of, and the software arrives, we will be ready to launch.

As always, we need articles, book reviews, and other submissions. Please submit your conference presentations for publication in our journal. Encourage your best students to submit their papers. The health--and continued existence--of our journal depends on a steady stream of submissions year round.

As always, write to me with suggestions, ideas, or just to chat.

On this holiday weekend, our thoughts and prayers are with our friends, loved ones, and colleagues in the South, and with all the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Blessings to you all,

Tim
