Here is my statement of objectives for the sophomore-level required
business law survey course:

Course Objectives: This class is NOT designed to turn you into a
lawyer, or even to prepare you for law school. This class IS designed
to:

*expose you to selected areas of law that are important for
individuals and businesses
*familiarize you with the processes by which the law is created,
changed, and applied
*help you become aware of the legal implications of decisions
and events
*improve your ability to recognize factors that influence
outcomes in legal settings
*help you recognize and develop effective strategies for
avoiding legal problems
*help you learn and practice careful reading, analytical
thinking, and clear and persuasive writing
