Hello Students and Faculty:
I apologize ahead of time for the change in schedule, but the
Department had to change the date for the spring luncheon to APRIL 26
(rather than April 27). Jamie or Steuart will send an email on the
listserv to all faculty and school psychology students about this
luncheon, as well as the EDP Awards Reception on April 27 but I
wanted to get the notice to you ASAP. I realize that 1st years have
two classes that day (Woodin, Jones) and 2nd years have one
(Shriberg); I believe 695 is off that day. I hope with this early
notification that faculty can rearrange their last classes for the
semester. I also know that some 2nd years and interns are in
schools; please work with field supervisors now to reschedule your
practicum/internship activities for that week. Jamie will send out
more detailed information in the near future, but some general
information for the day is below.
The Department of Educational Psychology Distinguished Scholar
Lecture luncheon will feature keynote speaker Dr. Frank Gresham and
School Psychology graduate student poster presentations. Dr. Gresham
is a Professor in the School Psychology Program at Louisiana State
University and has also been on the faculty at Hofstra University and
served as Director of the School Psychology program at the University
of California-Riverside. He is prominent in the field having
published hundreds of articles and books in the area of social
skills, behavioral assessment and intervention, and most recently in
the area of Response to Intervention (RTI). The day will start with
student poster presentations at 10:30, lunch at 12:00, presentation
by Dr. Gresham at 1:00 and practicum/internship supervisor and
faculty discussion at 2:30. More details to come.
Again - Steuart and I apologize for the change in date, but hope that
faculty and students can accommodate their schedules with this
advanced notice. We are fortunate to have Dr. Gresham impart his
knowledge and wisdom both formally (he will also present/consult with
faculty and OARS on grant writing) and informally (a Jonestrom
gathering will follow the Awards reception on Thursday). This event
is also a celebration of spring, end of the semester, a thank you to
our field supervisors and program supporters, and a chance for us to
meet and mingle with folks-in-the-field and colleagues.
If you have any questions, please ask me. Or Jamie.
Sincerely,
Katherine
