We require a J. D. and a license to practice law in a U.S. state. If we advertise for another position we will add J.D. from an accredited law school.

Subject: Question regarding qualifications to teach business law

Hi:

An issue came up regarding whether a U.S./Canadian J.D. degree is a pre-requisite to teach business law courses (at a U.S. school), or can one with a foreign law degree coupled with an LL.M. from a U.S. school teach business law. Is there any definitive standards on this issue? If not, I would like to know how your institution handles this issue.

If you wish, you may e-mail me at [log in to unmask]

Many thanks
