Windows Vista RC2 shows up as Windows NT with CCA 3.5.10. I "was" using
Administration > User Pages > Login Page (see UserPages.jpg) that
displayed a page (see ScreenImage.jpg) stating Windows NT was not
allowed on the network. It's kind of funny, I got a chuckle anyway, a MS
representative was on campus helping the AD guys and when he tried to
use his laptop on the wireless network it told him Windows NT was not
allowed!

Rather than micro manage Vista, I just disabled the user page for
wireless, still active for the Residence Halls. Quite a few of our staff
are using Vista, I even installed a copy myself. I "personally" don't
see what all the hoopla is about, in my opinion I've lost control of the
OS, or at the very least it is now difficult, if not impossible to make
changes to the system and services? I've only been using it a couple of
weeks so that opinion is subject to change. I will NOT be using it at
home and will only deploy as needed at work.

Hope that helps?

Howard

Subject: Supported Windows Operating Systems

I have found some students using Windows 2003. We are currently
blocking their network access and making them change their operating
system to one that is supported by CCA. Obviously Vista is out there in
beta, coming to the business world any day now, and to the consumers in
January. What is Cisco's timeline on supporting Vista? To anyone who
has found Vista on their network, how is it classified and are you able
to enforce any requirements on them, possibly under the Windows_All
classification?

Secondly, can anyone provide me with the registry keys for Windows 2003
and all consumer versions of Windows expect 2000 and XP so I can check
to see which operating system they are using and block the unauthorized
ones?

Thank you.
