I once again made the trip to Deer Creek looking for the northern shrike
previously seen an the beach parking lot, but I whiffed. Again.
This time, however, I got a nice consolation prize: a ROSS'S GOOSE hanging
out with ~150 Canada Geese on the beach. It was simply loafing with the
Canadas, affording me great looks from relatively close range.
Good birding,
John
