The 2006 Hoover Reservoir Christmas Bird Count
2006 marked the 51st Hoover Reservoir Christmas Bird Count. The Hoover
Reservoir Circle includes Hoover Reservoir, Alum Creek Reservoir, Westerville
Reservoir, areas along the Olentangy River, Highbanks Metro Park, Inniswood Metro
Park, Sharon Woods Metro Park, Camp Mary Orton, Westerville and portions of
Southern Delaware County.
Highlights for the 2006 count included setting new record highs for 13
species and adding a new species for the circle, Black Vulture. Our final count
was 71 species, 7 less than the 78 in 2005.
The 2007 Hoover Reservoir Christmas Bird Count will be held Saturday,
December 15, 2007.
