Trying to keep track of records, I'd be delighted to know the last time
anyone saw the western tanager in Grandview Hts., Franklin Co. The last
report I have comes from Dec 20---please drop me a line if you
definitely saw this bird after that time, and on what date.
This has been a great year for western tanagers in the east. In
Dec-Jan, fourteen others were reported in ten states and one province.
Just recently on 26 Jan, one of the two birds in New Jersey was found
dead, and thought to be a victim of cold weather. Such a fate may befall
our bird as well, but even so we'd like to know how long it lasted.
Thanks for any info,
Bill Whan
