Greetings... Charlie Saunders told me that he and his wife Mary saw an adult 
male Merlin on the west bank of the Great Miami River this morning. The bird 
was perched in a tree grove across the river from the low dam below 
Miami-University-Hamilton campus. There were also seven Greater Scaup, a few 
Goldeneye, two Horned Grebes, a Ring-necked Duck, a male Hooded Merganser, 
and a first-winter Herring Gull in the general area.
