The ponds and the woods part of the path at Sandy Ridge (North Ridgeville, Lorain Co.) were still ice-covered this morning. The one tiny patch of open water held a few Canada geese, a couple of mallards, and a coot. A recreational walker pointed out three wild turkeys in the woods (a tom and two hens) which I had missed while concentrating on my footing.
Maybe next week...
Craig Caldwell, Westlake
