OMG.

Please delete. I cannot believe I did this. I'm blushing.

Very personal and should never have been sent to the list.

My profuse apologies.
Dawn

Yeah - it was unfortunate that now all of the Florida people hate me for
pulling for Butler. :)

I AM doing well. Keeping extraordinarily busy...which makes me wonder what
I am doing wrong! Seriously, I hope things are on track for tenure. I put
my materials in next fall. GULP. Michael has indicated that he thinks I
will be fine. Still, I hesitate to actually SAY that in case I jinx it. :)
My "sperm article" was accepted for publication into Brigham Young
University Law Review for fall, 2007. I am thrilled!

I am hesitant to ask this because I know how busy you are but would you
consider being either an external reviewer or a reference for me for tenure?
Nothing on my end would be submitted until October 2007. I am not certain
what your deadlines would be but please think about it. If you say "NO"
that is fine and my feelings will not be hurt. I know you are in high
demand.

Michael has proven to be a wonderful addition to our department. I am not
certain he knew how much our department was struggling when he accepted the
position. The nicest thing has been his easy-going, steady guidance. It
truly has been remarkable how much smoother things have been running around
here. I didn't know Michael very well when we first interviewed him. I
mean, I had read his articles and had heard extremely positive things about
him but I never had the opportunity to get to know him. He's really a great
guy and I enjoy having him here very much.

He has put his hat in to become the department chair beginning August. I
tease him that I won't be able to talk to him after that. [well,
relationships change when titles change] I doubt that will be the case. He
seems to be a straight shooter. I very much appreciate and admire that
quality.

Are you going crazy getting ready for the national? I booked my room
already. Last year I almost waited too long so I figured I didn't want to
risk it. I may bring the kids. Zachary is 15 now. I think he is old
enough to figure out how to get to the pool and back to the room by himself
or with his 13-year old sister. He came with me to the Tri-state
conference. He loved the zoo, by the way and the Spaghetti Factory. Of
course, there is a Spaghetti Factory in Minneapolis but ...that would be
tooooo easy. :)

I have not chatted with Joe Galante at all. I am the Tri-state
representative to the House of Delegates this year. Hence, I plan to be at
Tri-state and that might be interesting. The Midwest ALSB removed Joe as
Editor of the Midwest Law Journal and asked whether I would consider being
moved into that role. I accepted. I feel badly that our relationship is
strained but it is difficult to work with someone that doesn't respond to
e-mail or phone calls. I couldn't do it anymore and the Board couldn't do
it anymore, either.

Rick is doing very well. He is finally getting back to writing and he's
excited about his topic. As we move towards AACSB, he really had to get
moving. He is so fun to work with.

Thanks. Hope that you are doing well. I had a long talk with Mike
Garrison the other day. He said things were going well up there. Is
this the year for the tenure decision or is it next year?

Bob

You're having a trying time with this conference, aren't you? Next the
hotel will move or something. :) LOL

Seriously, I was saddened to learn that Butler lost. I was pulling for
your
team.

Subject: Conference Hotel/Indianapolis

I have gotten a couple of calls and Emails about the Conference Hotel
for
the International Meeting in Indianapolis in August. The info is in the
newsletter that went out to the lists a couple of weeks ago and that you
should have received in the mail by now, but the conference hotel is the
Radisson City Centre Hotel. Reservation # 1-888-333-3333 or (317)
635-2000.

Just mention the Academy of Legal Studies in Business for the conference
rate of $129+tax which is a significant discount to the normal rate.
Alternatively, I am told that you can use the online registration and
just
enter the code word "Legal" to get the special block rate. The room
block
is likely to fill up, so please register early.

By the way, just to complicate matters, we found out last week that the
hotel is changing names to the Sheraton Indianapolis City Centre,
effective
July 12, 2007 (i.e., before the conference). The good news is that the
hotel is in the process of renovating all of the sleeping rooms (which
were
already quite nice) before the changeover. The hotel is not hard to
find
and I will be posting all kinds of travel directions well before the
conference.
