This evening I went outside to throw out some seed and scared up a
YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON that was roosting in a tree in my yard (North
Perry, Lake County). The bird flew off to the west. This was a new yard
bird.
This evening I had at least a dozen rose-breasted grosbeaks, 15 Baltimore
orioles, 7 orchard orioles, 5 purple finches, and an indigo bunting at my
feeders.
