Mary Anne Romito and I started at Headlands/Zimmerman and found about the same lists as others have reported over the last couple of days. Then to CVNP near Penninsula. Highlights:
Octagon parking lot - heard a Kentucky warbler
Ledges, north side - heard what we think were the chip notes of two more Kentuckys - never saw the birds but they were where MA had KY's a few days ago.
Horseshoe Pond - in pines east of the pond, golden-crowned kinglet and red-breasted nuthatch.
Oak Hill - blue-winged warbler. No alder flycatchers heard, but we were there in the heat of early afternoon.
Old Colosseum site - 20-25 bobolinks and about 5 eastern meadowlarks. One sparrow seen; it got away before we could ID it.
