Hi all,
I took a quick walk along a trail between Rock Springs Rd. and Porter Rd. at West Branch State Park (Portage County). There were probably ~25 individual warblers with Blue-winged (nesters) being the most abundant fallowed by Hooded (nesters), Nashville, Yellow-rumped, and Black-and-white. Other birds of interest were:
Great Crested Flycatcher - 1
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - XX
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - X
Blue-headed Vireo - 1
Swainson’s Thrush – 3
Purple Finch – 1 female
It was nice to see Broad-winged Hawks at eye level in the woods; a true woodland species.
In my yard for the past 2 days I’ve had the fallowing warblers: Blue-winged, Yellow, Blackburnian, Yellow-rumped, Black-throated Green, and Pine.
