Today I combined monitoring Prothonotary Warbler nest boxes and general
birding at the Hoover Nature Preserve. It was a very productive day on both
counts. The tally for the day included 31 male Prothonotary Warblers on territory
and 101 species overall. The birds observed were:

Cliff Swallow (Don't fret the loss at the dam, there are large active
colonies under the bridges at Smothers Road, Area I on Old 3C Highway, Area L in
Galena, Twin Bridges on Red Bank Road, Sunbury Road Causeway and Area O on
Redbank Road. Combined they had hundred's of active nest in 2006 and are
already active in 2007)
