Oh yeah, the client was using Windows Vista Starter which is not supported. The ACER laptop was purchased with a legal copy of Windows Vista Premium, installed WVP, worked fine. Not sure how Windows Vista Starter became the primary OS? I played with it for a day or two, opened a TAC case before realizing that ICON on the desktop that stated Windows Vista Starter wasn't some application installed by Vista! TAC didn't catch it either, run systeminfo from a command prompt.

Subject: CCA version old and not compatible error
Has anyone seen this error before? We've had it on two Vista machines.
Login Failed! This client version is old and not compatible. Please login from web browser and see the download link for the new version. [Attached screenshot]
We've uninstalled and reinstalled and this didn't fix it.
