Hi Jackie

I don't know the version of Avira, but I can drop the student an email and
ask her.

The agent version is a puzzle. The debug log says it's 4.1.1.0, but Windows
says it was installed last Sunday, and so does the student. Last Friday
(i.e. two days before) I upgraded our servers from 4.1.2.0 to 4.1.2.1.
According to the student it asked if she wanted to upgrade the agent (I
hadn't set it as mandatory this time) and she said yes. This means it must
have been running 4.1.2.1, because that's what the server's got on it.
That's when it stopped working, apparently. I got a debug log off it, and
then tried uninstalling the agent and installing 4.1.2.0, which would have
been the revious version. That did exactly the same thing. I'm wondering if
in fact there are one or more files from an older version left on the
system, and that's what is causing the access violation. Does that sound
possible?

Regards

Max
