For the date there was a plain vanilla variety of birds present and numbers weren't impressive either. I didn't visit the wetlands south of the reservoir today, but they might have offered more interesting birding. The warm south winds of today weren't good for plopping down many birds. Shane Egleston called me this morning to let me know he saw some shorebirds
at
the Barrett Paving gravel pits on Farmersville-West Carrollton road.
I met him there and we saw 4 Least Sandipipers - picking at the mud/dirt,
and 1 late Semipalmated Plover.
