ALAS!!

For those of you that might be interested!... this seems like a very important event to attend, I hope some of you can make it!

There will be a protest for the better treatment of Cintas workers (who are mostly Hispanic) on October 14, 2008 from 6:45 a.m. to approximately 12 p.m. If you are interested, please contact Jessica Brown at

Here is a brief description:
More than one and a half years after a Cintas worker was killed on the job, the Cincinnati based company still hasn't done enough to make its laundries safe. Join hundreds of inured cintas workers, union members, and community allies at the company's annual shareholder meeting in October.

Cintas has a very large hispanic community working for them. Most of the materials we have are in english and spanish; I never realized how many hispanic people worked there. This company has been using union busting techniques to break up the workers and consistently not improving the work conditions. We are going mainly to show solidarity with the workers. Also we have a special tie to the cause because our very own Richard T. Farmer is the chairman for Cintas, I think it's important that Miami acknowledges his bad business practices.

Thank you
