Sunday, Oct. 19 about 2:30pm, I took a walk along the paved trail that is beside the almost dry Chestnut Street Marsh at Shawnee Prairie Preserve on the west edge of Greenville.
There I saw my first ruby crowned and golden crowned kinglets
Bird list:
turkey vulture 2
red-bellied woodpecker 1
downy woodpecker 1
bluejay 2
C. chickadee 4
t. titmouse 1
wh. br. nuthatch 2
golden crowned kinglets at least 4
ruby crowned kinglets at least 2
robins 10
starlings at least 10
yellow-rump warblers at least 10
white throated sparrows at least 5
N. Cardinal 2
redwing blackbirds a flock of at least 50
brown headed cowbirds at least 3 mixed in with the redwings
